Jesus Prays for His Disciples
1 After Jesus finished saying this, he looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your Son, so that the Son may give glory to you. 2 For you gave him authority over all people, so that he might give eternal life to all those you gave him. 3 And eternal life means to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent. 4 I have shown your glory on earth; I have finished the work you gave me to do. 5 Father! Give me glory in your presence now, the same glory I had with you before the world was made.
6 “I have made you known to those you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me. They have obeyed your word, 7 and now they know that everything you gave me comes from you. 8 I gave them the message that you gave me, and they received it; they know that it is true that I came from you, and they believe that you sent me.
9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those you gave me, for they belong to you. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine; and my glory is shown through them. 11 And now I am coming to you; I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world. Holy Father! Keep them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one just as you and I are one. 12 While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me. I protected them, and not one of them was lost, except the man who was bound to be lost—so that the scripture might come true. 13 And now I am coming to you, and I say these things in the world so that they might have my joy in their hearts in all its fullness. 14 I gave them your message, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15 I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but I do ask you to keep them safe from the Evil One. 16 Just as I do not belong to the world, they do not belong to the world. 17 Dedicate them to yourself by means of the truth; your word is truth. 18 I sent them into the world, just as you sent me into the world. 19 And for their sake I dedicate myself to you, in order that they, too, may be truly dedicated to you.
20 “I pray not only for them, but also for those who believe in me because of their message. 21 I pray that they may all be one. Father! May they be in us, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they be one, so that the world will believe that you sent me. 22 I gave them the same glory you gave me, so that they may be one, just as you and I are one: 23 I in them and you in me, so that they may be completely one, in order that the world may know that you sent me and that you love them as you love me.
24 “Father! You have given them to me, and I want them to be with me where I am, so that they may see my glory, the glory you gave me; for you loved me before the world was made. 25 Righteous Father! The world does not know you, but I know you, and these know that you sent me. 26 I made you known to them, and I will continue to do so, in order that the love you have for me may be in them, and so that I also may be in them.”
1 Tā Jēzus runāja un, Savas acis uz debesīm pacēlis, sacīja: "Tēvs, Mana stunda ir nākusi: apskaidro Savu Dēlu, lai Dēls apskaidro Tevi. 2 Itin kā Tu Viņam esi devis varu pār visu miesu, lai Viņš visiem, ko Tu Viņam esi devis, dotu mūžīgo dzīvību. 3 Bet šī ir mūžīgā dzīvība, ka viņi atzīst Tevi, vienīgo patieso Dievu, un to, ko Tu esi sūtījis, Jēzu Kristu. 4 Es Tevi esmu paaugstinājis virs zemes, pabeigdams to darbu, ko darīt Tu Man esi uzdevis. 5 Un tagad apskaidro Tu Mani, Tēvs, ar to skaidrību, kas Man bija pie Tevis, pirms pasaule bija. 6 Es Tavu Vārdu esmu darījis zināmu cilvēkiem, ko Tu Man no pasaules esi devis. Tavi tie bija, un Man Tu viņus devi, un Tavus vārdus tie ir turējuši. 7 Tagad viņi ir atzinuši, ka viss, ko Tu Man esi devis, ir no Tevis; 8 jo tos vārdus, ko Tu Man devi, Es esmu devis viņiem, un viņi tos uzņēmuši un patiesi atzinuši, ka Es esmu nācis no Tevis, un ticējuši, ka Tu Mani esi sūtījis. 9 Es lūdzu par viņiem; Es nelūdzu par pasauli, bet par tiem, ko Tu Man esi devis, jo viņi ir Tavi. 10 Un viss, kas ir Mans, tas ir Tavs, un, kas ir Tavs, ir Mans, un Es esmu apskaidrots viņos. 11 Es vairs neesmu pasaulē, bet viņi ir pasaulē, un Es eimu pie Tevis. Svētais Tēvs, uzturi tos Savā Vārdā, ko Tu Man esi devis, lai viņi ir viens, itin kā mēs. 12 Kamēr Es biju pie viņiem, Es tos uzturēju Tavā Vārdā, ko Tu Man esi devis, un pasargāju tos, ka neviens nav pazudis kā vien pazušanas dēls, lai raksti piepildītos. 13 Bet tagad Es eimu pie Tevis; un par to Es runāju pasaulē, lai Mans prieks viņos būtu pilnīgs. 14 Tavus vārdus Es tiem esmu devis, un pasaule viņus ir ienīdusi, tāpēc ka viņi nav no pasaules, tāpat kā Es neesmu no pasaules. 15 Es nelūdzu, lai Tu viņus paņemtu no pasaules, bet lai Tu viņus pasargātu no ļauna. 16 Viņi nav no pasaules, tāpat kā Es neesmu no pasaules. 17 Svētī tos patiesībā; Tavi vārdi ir patiesība. 18 Tāpat kā Tu Mani esi sūtījis pasaulē, arī Es viņus esmu sūtījis pasaulē. 19 Un viņu labā Es pats svētījos nāvē, lai arī viņi būtu patiesībā svētīti. 20 Bet ne par viņiem vien Es lūdzu, bet arī par tiem, kas caur viņu vārdiem Man ticēs. 21 Lai visi ir viens, itin kā Tu, Tēvs, Manī un Es Tevī, lai arī viņi ir Mūsos, lai pasaule ticētu, ka Tu Mani esi sūtījis. 22 Un to skaidrību, ko Tu Man esi devis, Es esmu devis viņiem, lai viņi ir viens, tāpat kā Mēs esam viens: 23 Es viņos un Tu Manī, ka viņi ir pilnīgi viens, lai pasaule atzīst, ka Tu esi Mani sūtījis un viņus esi mīlējis tāpat, kā Tu Mani esi mīlējis. 24 Tēvs, Es gribu, lai, kur Es esmu, arī tie ir pie Manis, ko Tu Man esi devis, lai viņi redzētu Manu skaidrību, ko Tu Man esi devis, tāpēc ka Tu Mani esi mīlējis, pirms pasaule bija radīta. 25 Taisnais Tēvs! Pasaule Tevi nav atzinusi, bet Es Tevi esmu atzinis, un šie ir atzinuši, ka Tu Mani esi sūtījis. 26 Un Es viņiem esmu darījis zināmu Tavu Vārdu un darīšu To zināmu, lai mīlestība, ar ko Tu Mani esi mīlējis, būtu viņos un arī Es būtu viņos."
