Līdzība par strādniekiem vīnadārzā
1 “Debesu valstība ir līdzīga nama saimniekam, kurš agri no rīta izgāja nolīgt strādniekus savā vīnadārzā. 2 Vienojies ar strādniekiem par denāriju dienā, viņš nosūtīja tos uz savu vīnadārzu. 3 Tad, izgājis ap trešo stundu, viņš ieraudzīja vēl citus tirgus laukumā dīkā stāvam. 4 Arī tiem viņš sacīja: ejiet arī jūs uz vīnadārzu, un es jums maksāšu, kas pienākas. 5 Un tie aizgāja. Atkal izgājis ap sesto un devīto stundu, viņš darīja tāpat. 6 Bet, ap vienpadsmito stundu izgājis, viņš ieraudzīja vēl citus stāvam un tiem jautāja: kādēļ jūs visu dienu šeit stāvat dīkā? 7 Tie viņam atbildēja: neviens mūs nav nolīdzis. Tad viņš tiem sacīja: ejiet arī jūs uz vīnadārzu. 8 Kad vakars pienāca, vīnadārza saimnieks sacīja savam uzraugam: pasauc strādniekus un izmaksā viņiem algu, vispirms pēdējiem, tad pirmajiem. 9 Tad tie, kas bija atnākuši ap vienpadsmito stundu, saņēma katrs pa denārijam. 10 Kad pienāca klāt pirmie, tie cerēja saņemt vairāk, bet arī viņi saņēma pa denārijam. 11 Algu saņēmuši, tie sāka kurnēt pret nama saimnieku: 12 šie pēdējie strādāja tikai vienu stundu, bet tu tos esi pielīdzinājis mums, kas visu dienas smagumu un svelmi esam nesuši. 13 Bet viņš atbildēja vienam no tiem: mans draugs, es tev nenodaru pārestību, vai tad tu nevienojies ar mani par denāriju? 14 Ņem, kas ir tavs, un ej. Bet šim pēdējam es vēlos dot tikpat, cik tev. 15 Vai tad es nedrīkstu darīt ar to, kas ir mans, ko vien gribu? Vai arī tava acs ir skaudīga, ka es esmu labs? 16 Tā pēdējie būs pirmie un pirmie – pēdējie.”
Jēzus trešo reizi māca par savu nāvi un augšāmcelšanos
(Mk 10:32–34Lk 18:31–34)17 Iedams augšup uz Jeruzālemi, Jēzus pieaicināja divpadsmit mācekļus pie sevis un ceļā tiem sacīja: 18 “Redzi, mēs dodamies augšup uz Jeruzālemi, un Cilvēka Dēls tiks nodots virspriesteriem un rakstu mācītājiem, un tie viņu notiesās uz nāvi 19 un nodos pagāniem, lai viņu apsmietu, šaustītu un sistu krustā, un trešajā dienā viņš augšāmcelsies.”
Jēkaba un Jāņa mātes lūgums
(Mk 10:35–45)20 Tad pienāca pie viņa Zebedeja dēlu māte kopā ar saviem dēliem, nometās ceļos viņa priekšā un kaut ko lūdza. 21 Jēzus viņai jautāja: “Ko tu gribi?” Tā viņam atbildēja: “Saki, lai šie abi mani dēli sēd tavā Valstībā viens tev pie labās rokas, otrs – pie kreisās.” 22 Jēzus atbildēja: “Jūs nesaprotat, ko lūdzat. Vai jūs varat dzert to biķeri, kas man būs jādzer?” Tie atbildēja: “Varam.” 23 Viņš tiem sacīja: “Jūs gan dzersiet manu biķeri, bet sēdināt kādu pie savas labās vai pie kreisās rokas – tas man nepiederas; tās būs tiem, kam mans Tēvs to sagatavojis.” 24 Kad tie desmit to dzirdēja, tie noskaitās uz abiem brāļiem. 25 Bet Jēzus, viņus pieaicinājis, sacīja: “Jūs zināt, ka valdnieki tautas apspiež un viņu varenie ir varmācīgi pret tām. 26 Bet tā lai nav starp jums. Kas no jums grib būt liels, tas lai ir jūsu kalps. 27 Un, kas jūsu vidū grib būt pirmais, tas lai ir jūsu vergs. 28 Jo tāpat arī Cilvēka Dēls nav nācis, lai viņam kalpotu, bet lai viņš pats kalpotu un atdotu savu dzīvību kā izpirkšanas maksu par daudziem.”
Divu aklo dziedināšana
(Mk 10:46–52Lk 18:35–43)29 Kad viņi gāja projām no Jērikas, liels ļaužu pūlis viņiem sekoja. 30 Un, redzi, divi akli vīri, sēdēdami ceļmalā, dzirdēja Jēzu garām ejam. Tie sāka skaļā balsī saukt: “Kungs, tu Dāvida dēls, apžēlojies par mums!” 31 Bet ļaudis apsauca tos, ka tie klusētu. Tad tie sauca vēl skaļāk: “Kungs, tu Dāvida dēls, apžēlojies par mums!” 32 Un Jēzus apstājās, pasauca tos un sacīja: “Ko jūs gribat, lai es jums daru?” 33 Tie viņam sacīja: “Kungs, ka mūsu acis tiek atvērtas.” 34 Jēzus par viņiem iežēlojās, viņš pieskārās to acīm, un tūdaļ tie kļuva redzīgi un sekoja viņam.
The Workers in the Vineyard
1 “The Kingdom of heaven is like this. Once there was a man who went out early in the morning to hire some men to work in his vineyard. 2 He agreed to pay them the regular wage, a silver coin a day, and sent them to work in his vineyard. 3 He went out again to the marketplace at nine o'clock and saw some men standing there doing nothing, 4 so he told them, ‘You also go and work in the vineyard, and I will pay you a fair wage.’ 5 So they went. Then at twelve o'clock and again at three o'clock he did the same thing. 6 It was nearly five o'clock when he went to the marketplace and saw some other men still standing there. ‘Why are you wasting the whole day here doing nothing?’ he asked them. 7 ‘No one hired us,’ they answered. ‘Well, then, you go and work in the vineyard,’ he told them.
8 “When evening came, the owner told his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, starting with those who were hired last and ending with those who were hired first.’ 9 The men who had begun to work at five o'clock were paid a silver coin each. 10 So when the men who were the first to be hired came to be paid, they thought they would get more; but they too were given a silver coin each. 11 They took their money and started grumbling against the employer. 12 ‘These men who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘while we put up with a whole day's work in the hot sun—yet you paid them the same as you paid us!’ 13 ‘Listen, friend,’ the owner answered one of them, ‘I have not cheated you. After all, you agreed to do a day's work for one silver coin. 14 Now take your pay and go home. I want to give this man who was hired last as much as I gave you. 15 Don't I have the right to do as I wish with my own money? Or are you jealous because I am generous?’”
16 And Jesus concluded, “So those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last.”
Jesus Speaks a Third Time about His Death
(Mark 10.32-34Luke 18.31-34)17 As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and spoke to them privately, as they walked along. 18 “Listen,” he told them, “we are going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the teachers of the Law. They will condemn him to death 19 and then hand him over to the Gentiles, who will make fun of him, whip him, and crucify him; but three days later he will be raised to life.”
A Mother's Request
(Mark 10.35-45)20 Then the wife of Zebedee came to Jesus with her two sons, bowed before him, and asked him for a favor.
21 “What do you want?” Jesus asked her.
She answered, “Promise me that these two sons of mine will sit at your right and your left when you are King.”
22 “You don't know what you are asking for,” Jesus answered the sons. “Can you drink the cup of suffering that I am about to drink?”
“We can,” they answered.
23 “You will indeed drink from my cup,” Jesus told them, “but I do not have the right to choose who will sit at my right and my left. These places belong to those for whom my Father has prepared them.”
24 When the other ten disciples heard about this, they became angry with the two brothers. 25 So Jesus called them all together and said, “You know that the rulers of the heathen have power over them, and the leaders have complete authority. 26 This, however, is not the way it shall be among you. If one of you wants to be great, you must be the servant of the rest; 27 and if one of you wants to be first, you must be the slave of the others— 28 like the Son of Man, who did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life to redeem many people.”
Jesus Heals Two Blind Men
(Mark 10.46-52Luke 18.35-43)29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd was following. 30 Two blind men who were sitting by the road heard that Jesus was passing by, so they began to shout, “Son of David! Have mercy on us, sir!”
31 The crowd scolded them and told them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, “Son of David! Have mercy on us, sir!”
32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked them.
33 “Sir,” they answered, “we want you to give us our sight!”
34 Jesus had pity on them and touched their eyes; at once they were able to see, and they followed him.
