Pateicība Kungam par izglābšanu no nāves
1 Dāvida psalms . Dziesma tempļa iesvētīšanai.
2 Es cildināšu tevi, Kungs, –
kā no akas tu mani izcēli,
tu neļāvi naidniekiem smieties par mani!
3 Kungs, mans Dievs, es brēcu uz tevi,
un tu mani dziedināji,
4 Kungs, no šeola tu mani uzvedi,
tu dzīvu izvedi mani no bedres!

5 Dziediet Kungam jūs, uzticīgie,
un pateicieties, pieminēdami viņa svētumu!
6 Jo tik mirkli viņa dusmas,
bet uz mūžu viņa labvēlība!
Vakarā raudas nāk sērst,
bet no rīta līksme.
7 Savā pārticībā es teicu:
nemūžam neklupšu!
8 Kungs, savā labvēlībā tu darīji mani stipru kā kalnu –
līdzko tu novērsies, es iztrūcinājos!

9 Tev, Kungs, es saucu,
savu Kungu es karsti lūdzos:
10 kāds tev guvums no manām asinīm
vai ja es nokāptu bedrē?
Vai tad pīšļi slavētu tevi,
vai tie paustu tavu patiesību?

11 Uzklausi, Kungs,
žēlo mani, Kungs,
esi man palīgs!
12 Tu pārvērti manas vaimanas dejā,
tu noraisīji man maisu
un apjozi mani ar prieku,
13 lai dzied tev mans gods un neklusē!
Kungs, mans Dievs, mūžam pateikšos tev!
(A psalm by David for the dedication of the temple.)
A Prayer of Thanks
1 I will praise you, Lord!
You saved me from the grave
and kept my enemies
from celebrating my death.
2 I prayed to you, Lord God,
and you healed me,
3 saving me from death
and the grave.

4 Your faithful people, Lord,
will praise you with songs
and honor your holy name.
5 Your anger lasts a little while,
but your kindness lasts
for a lifetime.
At night we may cry,
but when morning comes
we will celebrate.

6 I felt secure and thought,
“I'll never be shaken!”
7 You, Lord, were my friend,
and you made me strong
as a mighty mountain.
But when you hid your face,
I was crushed.

8 I prayed to you, Lord,
and in my prayer I said,
9 “What good will it do you
if I am in the grave?
Once I have turned to dust,
how can I praise you
or tell how loyal you are?
10 Have pity, Lord! Help!”

11 You have turned my sorrow
into joyful dancing.
No longer am I sad
and wearing sackcloth.
12 I thank you from my heart,
and I will never stop
singing your praises,
my Lord and my God.
