Līdzība par desmit jaunavām
1 Tad Debesu valstība būs līdzīga desmit jaunavām, kas, paņēmušas savus eļļas lukturus, izgāja sagaidīt līgavaini. 2 Piecas no tām bija nesaprātīgas un piecas saprātīgas. 3 Nesaprātīgās, ņemdamas savus lukturus, nepaņēma līdzi eļļu. 4 Bet saprātīgās saviem lukturiem paņēma līdzi arī eļļu traukos. 5 Kad līgavainis kavējās nākt, viņas visas iesnaudās un gulēja. 6 Bet nakts vidū atskanēja skaļi saucieni: redzi, līgavainis nāk! Izejiet viņu sagaidīt! 7 Tad visas desmit jaunavas uzcēlās un sagatavoja savus lukturus. 8 Nu nesaprātīgās lūdza saprātīgajām: dodiet mums no savas eļļas, jo mūsu lukturi izdziest. 9 Bet saprātīgās atbildēja: nē! Tā nepietiks ne mums, ne jums. Labāk ejiet pie tirgotājiem un nopērciet sev. 10 Kamēr viņas gāja pirkt, atnāca līgavainis, un tās, kuras bija gatavas, iegāja līdz ar viņu kāzu namā, un durvis tika aizslēgtas. 11 Vēlāk atnāca arī pārējās jaunavas un sauca: kungs, kungs, atver mums! 12 Bet viņš tām atbildēja: patiesi es jums saku: es jūs nepazīstu! – 13 Tādēļ esiet nomodā, jo jūs nezināt nedz to dienu, nedz stundu.
Līdzība par uzticēto naudu
(Lk 19:11–27)14 Tas ir tāpat kā ar cilvēku, kas pirms aizceļošanas pasauca savus kalpus un nodeva tiem savu mantu. 15 Vienam viņš iedeva piecus talantus, otram divus, vēl kādam vienu, katram pēc viņa spējām. Pēc tam viņš aizceļoja. 16 Tūlīt tas, kas bija saņēmis piecus talantus, laida tos darbā un nopelnīja vēl piecus. 17 Tāpat arī tas, kam bija divi, nopelnīja vēl divus. 18 Bet tas, kas bija saņēmis vienu, aizgājis apraka to zemē un paslēpa sava kunga naudu. 19 Pēc ilga laika šo kalpu kungs atgriezās un pieprasīja tiem norēķinu. 20 Tad ieradās tas, kas bija saņēmis piecus talantus, viņš atnesa vēl otrus piecus un sacīja: kungs, tu man iedevi piecus talantus, redzi, esmu nopelnījis vēl piecus. 21 Viņa kungs tam sacīja: labi, mans krietnais un uzticamais kalps! Tu esi bijis uzticams mazās lietās, es tevi iecelšu pār lielajām. Ieej sava kunga priekā! 22 Un arī tas, kam bija divi talanti, atnāca, sacīdams: kungs, tu iedevi man divus talantus, redzi, esmu nopelnījis vēl divus. 23 Viņa kungs tam sacīja: labi, mans krietnais un uzticamais kalps! Tu esi bijis uzticams mazās lietās, es tevi iecelšu pār lielajām. Ieej sava kunga priekā! 24 Atnāca arī tas, kam bija viens talants, un sacīja: es zinu, ka tu esi bargs cilvēks, tu pļauj, kur neesi sējis, un savāc, kur neesi kaisījis, 25 tādēļ es bailēs aizgāju un apraku tavu talantu zemē. Redzi, ņem, kas tev pieder. 26 Tad viņa kungs tam atbildēja: nelietīgais un slinkais kalps, tu zināji, ka es pļauju, kur neesmu sējis, un savācu, kur neesmu kaisījis! 27 Tev vajadzēja dot manu naudu augļotājiem, tad es pārnācis dabūtu atpakaļ savu naudu ar peļņu. 28 Atņemiet viņam talantu un dodiet tam, kam ir desmit, 29 jo tam, kam ir, tiks dots un tam būs pārpilnība, bet tam, kam nav, tiks atņemts arī tas, kas tam ir. 30 Bet nederīgo kalpu izmetiet ārā tumsā; tur būs vaimanas un zobu griešana.
Par pēdējo tiesu
31 Kad Cilvēka Dēls nāks savā godībā un visi eņģeļi līdz ar viņu, tad viņš sēdēs savā godības tronī 32 un visas tautas tiks savestas viņa priekšā. Viņš tās šķirs, kā gans nošķir avis no āžiem, 33 un nostādīs avis sev pa labo roku, bet āžus pa kreiso. 34 Tad Ķēniņš sacīs tiem, kas pa labi: jūs, mana Tēva svētītie, nāciet, iemantojiet Valstību, kas jums sagatavota kopš pasaules radīšanas! 35 Jo es biju izsalcis, un jūs devāt man ēst; es biju izslāpis, un jūs devāt man dzert; es biju svešinieks, un jūs mani uzņēmāt. 36 Es biju kails, un jūs mani apģērbāt, es biju slims, un jūs mani apraudzījāt, es biju cietumā, un jūs nācāt pie manis. 37 Tad taisnie viņam jautās: Kungs, kad mēs esam tevi redzējuši izsalkušu un esam devuši ēst? Vai izslāpušu un esam devuši dzert? 38 Kad mēs esam tevi redzējuši kā svešinieku un uzņēmuši? Vai kailu un esam apģērbuši? 39 Kad mēs esam tevi redzējuši slimu vai cietumā un esam nākuši pie tevis? 40 Un Ķēniņš tiem atbildēs: patiesi es jums saku: visu, ko jūs esat darījuši vienam no šiem maniem vismazākajiem brāļiem, jūs esat man darījuši. 41 Tad viņš sacīs arī tiem, kas pa kreisi: ejiet prom no manis, jūs nolādētie, mūžīgā ugunī, kas sagatavota velnam un viņa eņģeļiem! 42 Jo es biju izsalcis, un jūs nedevāt man ēst, es biju izslāpis, un jūs nedevāt man dzert. 43 Es biju svešinieks, un jūs mani neuzņēmāt. Es biju kails, un jūs mani neapģērbāt; es biju slims un cietumā, bet jūs mani neapraudzījāt. 44 Tad arī tie viņam jautās: Kungs, kad mēs tevi esam redzējuši izsalkušu vai izslāpušu, vai kā svešinieku, vai kailu, vai slimu, vai cietumā un neesam tev kalpojuši? 45 Viņš tiem atbildēs: patiesi es jums saku: ko jūs neesat darījuši vienam no šiem vismazākajiem, to jūs neesat man darījuši, 46 un tie ieies mūžīgā sodībā, bet taisnie mūžīgā dzīvībā.”
A Story about Ten Young Women
1 The kingdom of heaven is like what happened one night when ten young women took their oil lamps and went to a wedding to meet the groom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps, but no extra oil. 4 The ones who were wise took along extra oil for their lamps.
5 The groom was late arriving, and the young women became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 Then in the middle of the night someone shouted, “Here's the groom! Come to meet him!”
7 When the women got up and started getting their lamps ready, 8 the foolish ones said to the others, “Let us have some of your oil! Our lamps are going out.”
9 Those who were wise answered, “There's not enough oil for all of us! Go and buy some for yourselves.”
10 While the foolish ones were on their way to get some oil, the groom arrived. The five who were ready went into the wedding, and the doors were closed. 11 Later the others returned and shouted, “Sir, sir! Open the door for us!”
12 But the groom replied, “I don't even know you!”
13 So, my disciples, always be ready! You don't know the day or the time when all this will happen.
A Story about Three Servants
(Luke 19.11-27)14 The kingdom is also like what happened when a man went away and put his three servants in charge of all he owned. 15 The man knew what each servant could do. So he handed 5,000 coins to the first servant, 2,000 to the second, and 1,000 to the third. Then he left the country.
16 As soon as the man had gone, the servant with the 5,000 coins used them to earn 5,000 more. 17 The servant who had 2,000 coins did the same with his money and earned 2,000 more. 18 But the servant with 1,000 coins dug a hole and hid his master's money in the ground.
19 Some time later the master of those servants returned. He called them in and asked what they had done with his money. 20 The servant who had been given 5,000 coins brought them in with the 5,000 that he had earned. He said, “Sir, you gave me 5,000 coins, and I have earned 5,000 more.”
21 “Wonderful!” his master replied. “You are a good and faithful servant. I left you in charge of only a little, but now I will put you in charge of much more. Come and share in my happiness!”
22 Next, the servant who had been given 2,000 coins came in and said, “Sir, you gave me 2,000 coins, and I have earned 2,000 more.”
23 “Wonderful!” his master replied. “You are a good and faithful servant. I left you in charge of only a little, but now I will put you in charge of much more. Come and share in my happiness!”
24 The servant who had been given 1,000 coins then came in and said, “Sir, I know that you are hard to work for. You harvest what you don't plant and gather crops where you haven't scattered seed. 25 I was frightened and went out and hid your money in the ground. Here is every single coin!”
26 The master of the servant told him, “You are lazy and good-for-nothing! You know I harvest what I don't plant and gather crops where I haven't scattered seed. 27 You could have at least put my money in the bank, so I could have earned interest on it.”
28 Then the master said, “Now your money will be taken away and given to the servant with 10,000 coins! 29 Everyone who has something will be given more, and they will have more than enough. But everything will be taken from those who don't have anything. 30 You are a worthless servant, and you will be thrown out into the dark where people will cry and grit their teeth in pain.”
The Final Judgment
31 When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all his angels, he will sit on his royal throne. 32 The people of all nations will be brought before him, and he will separate them, as shepherds separate their sheep from their goats.
33 He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 Then the king will say to those on his right, “My father has blessed you! Come and receive the kingdom that was prepared for you before the world was created. 35 When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me, 36 and when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me.”
37 Then the ones who pleased the Lord will ask, “When did we give you something to eat or drink? 38 When did we welcome you as a stranger or give you clothes to wear 39 or visit you while you were sick or in jail?”
40 The king will answer, “Whenever you did it for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me.”
41 Then the king will say to those on his left, “Get away from me! You are under God's curse. Go into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! 42 I was hungry, but you did not give me anything to eat, and I was thirsty, but you did not give me anything to drink. 43 I was a stranger, but you did not welcome me, and I was naked, but you did not give me any clothes to wear. I was sick and in jail, but you did not take care of me.”
44 Then the people will ask, “Lord, when did we fail to help you when you were hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in jail?”
45 The king will say to them, “Whenever you failed to help any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you failed to do it for me.”
46 Then Jesus said, “Those people will be punished forever. But the ones who pleased God will have eternal life.”
