Ja ne Kungs, kurš tad bija ar mums,
lai pasaka Israēls, –

kad ļaudis cēlās pret mums,
3 tie mūs dzīvus būtu aprijuši,
tā dega to dusmas uz mums!
4 Tad ūdeņi veltos pār mums,
straume celtos mums pāri,
5 tad veltos mums pāri
trakulīgie ūdeņi!
6 Teikts lai Kungs, kurš nedeva mūs
par laupījumu viņu zobiem!
7 Mēs kā putni tikām projām no mednieku cilpas –
cilpa ir pušu, un mēs prom!
8 Palīgs mums Kunga vārds –
tā, kurš radījis debesis un zemi!
